Roled Live

Roled:Live is our system for users to quickly and easily find a suitable match and begin roleplaying with minimal need for search or setup. In a nutshell, when you select among your characters to search with, Roled:Live tries to find details you've set up that correlate with other users' characters. Details like the character name, fandom, tags, wish list, and block list. You may also set desirable maturity rating and reply-lengths, and will be matched to users with at least partially overlapping parameters.

In more detail

As mentioned before, there are five character paremeters that the Roled:Live system is using when searching: Name, fandom, tags, wish list, and block list.

The most important parameter is fandom. When looking for potential matches, any results that don't share at least one fandom value are thrown out. Put another way, characters that share any one fandom with yours can be matched with you.

Next are the character's name and tags. These are checked against other characters' wish lists and block lists. Any characters with a blocked name or tag are thrown out of the pool of potential matches. Any tags or names that match a value on a character's wish list add to the score of that potential match. These checks are done both ways, of course; your character's name tags against their wish list and block list, and their name and tags against your wish list and block list.

Once all potential matches have been checked, the potential match with the highest score is sent through! If there's a tie, the system picks randomly from the list of ties.
